Proteus Europe are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager for our client based in Belgium.Language skills:

Technical environment
The customer's environment consists primarily of Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems.
Middleware consists of a combination of Websphere and Jboss application servers (which will be moved to weblogic to be hosted on an exalogic), MQSeries, UC4, etc.
Webservers are primarily apache, but some internal websites and Siebel is accessible through IIS instead.
Lately, more and more Oracle applications are acquired (such as OAM, EBS, OTM, SOA, …) for new functionality or to replace existing custom made solutions.
Most middleware components run on oracle databases in dedicated exadata racks, with some smaller applications using Mysql, MS SQL, MaxDB, etc….
The environment is split amongst two datacenters in the Netherlands for disaster recovery purposes. Non-PRD environments are hosted in Amsterdam, the production environment is hosted in Nieuwegein. The datacenters are property of BT, who is also the main network carrier for traffic from, to and in between datacenters. Another company has been chosen as outsourcing partner for providing the basic infrastructural needs and services.
Project Manager Job Description:
- Drives the different projects forward as scheduled and agreed between the two business units
- Will act as escalation point for project related issues, risks and scope, architecture changes
- Is responsible for keeping the overview, identifying showstoppers, issues and overlaps within a project and in between projects
- Is responsible for generating complete and timely RFCs to get the necessary changes in places
- Will have different roles depending on the project: for some projects he will be in the driver's seat, for others he will merely coordinate on behalf of operations.
- Reports on a recurring base on project progress with Service desk manager, Change manager, Operations Manager, Service Delivery Manager and / or CIO
- Alleviates operations management with regards to projects, allowing the operations manager to concentrate on actual operational tasks instead.
Previous experience:
Project management experience
MS Project experience
Other requirements:
Solid Technical background comprising many areas, ranging from hardware all the way up to the end user space
Flexibility- some work outside office hours is sometimes required
Business casual, no suit & tie style
