Role Description

To engage with key Customers to define and agree data mappings and most appropriate mechanisms for migration of existing customer data onto the our clients STOC Product Data Model. To then work within an overall Project Delivery team to define the migration strategy, design, develop and test those agreed mechanisms throughout the customer delivery through to final production data migration itself.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an expert understanding of the our clients STOC Product Data Model and its key Entities and Relationships
  • Engage with Customers to develop and document an understanding of Customer Data structures on existing systems and tables, including the key fields which they wish to retain and migrate as part of taking on the STOC Product.
  • Carry out detailed mappings of Data from existing Customer Data structures to the Rockall STOC Data Model.
  • Define and agree the process for migration of Customer Data to the target installation of STOC at the Customer site. This may be direct loading of data or may involve varying degrees of Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) tasks.
  • Develop ETL tools, utilities or functions as necessary to assist with the migration process
  • Work with the Customer and with the remaining Project/Development team to ensure Data is correctly migrated and tested
  • Undertake related Development deliveries to facilitate the migration task as required, including design and development of Oracle Database objects consisting of PL/SQL packages, functions, procedures, tables, views, triggers etc.
  • Travel to clients sites as required

Mandatory

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • 5+ years in Data Modeling and design of Data Structures
  • 5+ years experience in Systems Analysis as part of IT Delivery in a Financial Services environment
  • Experience with ETL, data migration techniques
  • Experience with Oracle 10g/11g, including some experience developing Packages in PL/SQL
  • Experience with advanced SQL including areas such as performance analysis and improvement techniques, including partitioning and indexing
  • Self-motivated individual with strong problem-solving, documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to engage with Senior Technical and Business personnel at Customer site, representing our client in a professional manner
