About the IT Support Technician (Support, Support Technician, IT Support) role:
The successful candidate is an individual with a professional approach and broad range of IT Support experience for the role of IT Support Technician (Support, Support Technician, IT Support).
Candidates will have experience working within a team with the ability to provide a quality support service to the organisation, resolving incidents either in person or remotely via the service desk. Candidates will have experience working within a similar role with the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical users, both verbally and in writing.
As expected with a role of this nature, candidates will have a broad range of IT skills with the ability to set up and configure servers. Candidates should have good network support skills, in addition to an understanding of switches / VLANS / firewalls and configuring backup solutions.
Any experience migrating from physical to virtual servers would be extremely beneficial. You also need experience looking after physical Exchange server. Your role will involve anything from rebuilding a physical PC to monitoring disk space usage.
Essential for the IT Support Technician (Support, Support Technician, IT Support) role:
- Ability to fault find on own initiative
- Excellent attention to detail and good communication skills
- Must be able to work on own initiative and with minimal supervision
- MS Windows XP - Windows8
- MS Office
- Completing all paperwork accurately and on time. Writing ad-hoc reports when required
- Windows Server
- Active Directory
- Exchange
Desirable for the IT Support Technician (Support, Support Technician, IT Support) role:
- IP Networking Skills
- Microsoft HyperV
- Mitel IP telephone experience
- Scripting knowledge
- Experience of Local Area Network infrastructure including various switches, routers and IP.
- Experience of a SAN environment.
- Visual Basic programming
- SQL Server database management
