We are looking to recruit a Risk Manager to work within a large financial services organisation in Edinburgh. The ideal candidate will be an experienced risk manager and it is essential that they have strong knowledge of being compliant with the FSA's principles, rules and guidance, along with any other relevant regulatory requirements and FSA-related matters.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Deliver compliance review/assurance activity consulting with senior management.
  • Report on compliance review/assurance activity in a manner which is objective and promotes positive working relationships.
  • Provide input to the continuous development and improvement of the compliance review methodology.
  • Work in partnership with other managers to ensure that delivery of all compliance services is of the required standard.
  • Oversee delivery of the outsourced compliance service.
  • Undertake quality assurance of the services provided by the OSP Compliance Function.
  • Use quality assurance techniques to identify service improvements, negotiate improvement plans and oversee effective and timely delivery of those plans.
  • Act as escalation point for OSP Compliance Functions in relation to regulatory compliance matters, ensuring these are managed appropriately, within reasonable timescales, and communicating with key stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Provide support in relation to issues with a regulatory compliance connotation such as policy processing, complaints handling and reporting etc.
  • Analyse MI and reports provided by OSP.
  • Work with the Risk Management team to support the deployment of the framework.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Relevant and extensive FSA financial services compliance experience
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to communicate at all levels and proven relationship management skills
  • Demonstrated coaching and feedback skills.
  • Ability to work under own initiative.
