Description
(Back end)Our client is looking for a talented .NET server-side Developer for its Research and Development department. You will contribute to the development of one of our flagship software products. You will also be expected to take a key role in our agile software development teams and become involved in all stages of the development life cycle from analysis, design to implementation, integration and testing.
Successful candidates will be experienced software developers with significant experience within an agile/SCRUM environment in software companies in a similar role.
The Software Developer will report to the Director Research & Development.
Role and Responsibilities
Collaborate with the team in the design, development and testing of the server-side components for the next generation architecture.
Participate in the review of product requirements, designs, code and supporting documentation together with our other global development.
Help assist in our development infrastructure, including evolution of the build/continuous integration, continuous deployment and test automation systems.
Assist in Support, Training and Documentation when required.
Mentor and develop junior members of staff, providing clear and constructive feedback and creating opportunities for learning and growth. Where applicable, regularly review progress and next steps.
Requirements
The following skills and qualifications are required:
University degree or college diploma in Information Technology (or similar) and a minimum of 5 years working on .NET applications.
Extensive experience in Microsoft .NET 4.x (C#) with WCF.
Understands the importance of quality (maintainability, performance, security, availability, testability)
Understands the need for unit testing, clean code and other software engineering concepts (SOLID, TDD, KISS).
Knowledge of RESTful and SOAP (WSDL) web service architectures.
Any experience with Microsoft's Azure platform.
Any experience with Microsoft SharePoint 2013.
Ability to initiate evaluation of alternative technologies, tools and methods.
Ability to work in a self-directed manner and to quickly and accurately assess priorities.
Ability to initiate and participate in the system design and architecture creation with the ability to think about problems at a system-level.
Experience in the development and architecture of distributed/scalable/fault tolerant systems and high-volume transaction applications across platforms and application servers.
Production system experience - has lived with the impact of software and system design decisions on manageability, supportability, troubleshooting.
Can conform and reacts well to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines within a fast-moving environment.
Can speak and write fluently in English. Other languages are highly appreciated.
