Software Test Engineer (Contract)
Software Tester/QA Analyst (contract) who will mostly be testing Back End Java applications on RedHat Linux with tomcat connected to a MS SQL server database. This role will involve a 50/50 mix of manual testing and automation testing."
Role
- Contribute to all aspects of the systems Quality Assurance process for both new and existing functionality
- Test strategy definition, test case creation, test case execution and verification
- Define and execute complex integration test scenarios
- Create and maintain automated regression suites
- Create test cases, results analysis, raise bug report and regress all resolved bugs
- Quality assurance of customer functionality and provide QA signoff to production releases
- Liaise with business (product managers and customer support) and development team to identify test requirements
- Take part in review of requirement documentation and make sure that it is brought to satisfactory level by its originators
- Manage QA test environments including DB test data and multiple versions of software releases
Technical Expertise
- Experience of automation test tools such as JMeter, IBM rational tester and Scripting languages
- Experience of API testing
- Experience Linux operating systems
- Experience of testing against MS SQL Server database and good SQL knowledge
- Experience of XML, JavaScript, AJAX, Tomcat, Java and Web Services
Technical Expertise
- Knowledge of transaction processing systems
- Expertise and experience with relational databases
- Experience with secure development
- BSc/MSc degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline
