SENIOR CISCO ENGINEER - 6 MONTHS - PORTSMOUTH

Type: 6 Month Contract

Rate: £300

Location: Portsmouth

Start Date: Immediately

Computer Futures are looking for an experienced and dynamic IT Senior Cisco Engineer for a world wide market leader. My client requires you to evaluate, design, implement, and maintain local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) and servers both regionally and globally (as needed). You will collaborate with end users and department managers regarding system, network and voice related problems.

Key Skills
  • Performs activities related to system monitoring and performance
  • Monitors, evaluates and maintains systems and procedures to safeguard internal information systems and network devices from unauthorised users,
    identifies potential threats and responds to reported security violations.
  • Plans, designs, patches/upgrades, and installs servers, voice and data networks according to company standards, SOX policies and procedures
    and guidelines. Documents systems and processes accordingly
  • Interacts with end users and management to determine hardware and software needs.
  • Ensures that the networks support the information systems and are properly maintained.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments and trends; makes recommendations to senior management on desirable additions or replacements.


Essential skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Cisco technologies involved in telecommunications and internal Server/PC networks, as well as connections to and usage of LAN and WAN technologies.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effortlessly with internal "customers" and colleagues at local and international level.
  • Excellent project management skills with an attention to detail.
  • Strong problem analysis skills
  • Positive customer service attitude
  • Ability to work as a cohesive team both on a global basis.
  • Excellent Project leadership, learning and communications skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of company's objectives and strategies.
