Systems Engineer - Systems Design System design, Common Combat and Defence
A Systems Engineer - Systems Design with System design, Common Combat and Defence is required to work on a six month contract (WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION) for our Defence client based in Dorset
This is a 6 month contract working for a UK leading defence company.
Overview of the Systems Engineer - Systems Design contract role
Extensive experience of complex system design and qualification, understanding of requirements management and acceptance, knowledge of the techniques of Systems Engineering, experience of Systems Engineering in a Naval Platform arena and knowledge of network and high performance processing systems design.
Key skills required for the Systems Engineer - Systems Design
Undertake concept design studies, considering options in all aspects of systems engineering.
Perform requirements analysis and traceability.
Produce Systems and Subsystem designs for the Common Combat System.
Liaise with suppliers and systems team members to agree technical solutions, coherent with the common combat system design.
Undertake functional design and provide specialist advice and qualification for their scope of responsibility.
To produce evidence in support of qualification, legislative requirements, safety, security and fitness for purpose justifications and provide specialist support for associated activities.
Contribute to identification and rapid closure of issues emerging from all product life cycle stages and manage the resulting change embodiment activities.
Provide realistic programme status, identify problem areas and implement agreed recovery plans.
Undertake peer reviews or checking/verification tasks as directed.
Articulate and present detailed technical argument clearly, logically and simply.
Gain a clear understanding of and apply the Quality and Safety, Health & Environment Management Systems documentation applicable to your particular work scope.
Liaise with both internal and external customers as required ensuring that their requirements are adequately supported and that their needs are fully considered and incorporated where appropriate and agreed.
The role is based in Dorset - commutable from commutable from Weymouth, Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Blandford Forum, Bere Regis, Bovington, Sherborne, Yeovil, Crewkerne, Honiton, Axminster, Lyme Regis and Bridport
