I am looking to hire a Senior Financial Accountant for our public sector client.

Essential Experience:

A financial accountant with experience of managing the preparation of Annual Report and Accounts
Good communication (verbal and written) and stakeholder management skills
Project planning skills, including the monitoring of the plan to deliver a successful outcome

Desirable Experience:
Government Accounting highly desirable
Oracle experience desirable

Key activities will include:
To take on the planning activity from the interim accounts preparation to publication of the Annual Report and Accounts in June 2015. Ensuring that there is a detailed project plan and identifying the resources required to complete the plan
Ensure that stakeholders are fully engaged, and to maintain relationships with all of those who are identified as contributors to the plan - this will include colleagues with DECC - such as HR and our strategy team, who have input into the Annual Report and Governance Statement, as well as the accounts teams of consolidated bodies
Review the 2014 Annual Report and identify where improvements can be made (both to the text, and from the lessons learned from the preparation process).
Co-ordinate the drafting of the Governance Statement and Annual Report
Monitor progress against the plan and escalate to senior management where there are risks to delivery, and identify practical solutions to mitigate these risks
The post holder may be called upon to assist in ad-hoc tasks in the preparation of the accounts.
