The role:

Our client is a niche organisation occupying a unique space within government and the private sector.

They have a current requirement for an experience security manager to take on broad responsibilities and provide overarching management of the security framework.

The role will see you being an integral component to numerous strategic and operational changes, and be the driving force behind the organisation's physical and information security.

Exposure to a regulated environment would be a strong advantage, as would experience working across both public and private sectors.

This role will be offered as a 12 month non-ongoing contract.

Duties will include:

  • Developing and maintaining the suite of ICT policies and procedures and ensuring that these are maintained and adhered to
  • Communicating security measures to a range of stakeholders and external service providers and ensuring consistent application
  • Managing the security vetting process for staff and contractors
  • Conducting periodic security audits and ICT security reviews and managing responses
  • Reporting to senior management and contribute to business continuity management and fraud control framework
  • Monitor and report upon security arrangements of outsourced service providers
  • Provide central operational management and guidance in handling, responding and reporting on security incidents and problems.
  • Provide advice for information system contingency planning and emergency response procedures.

Essential experience:

  • Experience working within a regulated environment, and an understanding of how this impacts on security policy and process.
  • Experience in outsourced service provider supervision especially from the security and IT aspect.
  • Experience in engaging with providers of security assurance such as audits, quality assurance functions and other technical specialists.
  • Strong experience in IT governance and setting strategy for monitoring and managing the performance of IT-related systems and services.
  • Proven ability to manage risk-based audits of existing and planned technology systems.

Other requirements:

  • Australian citizenship
  • Possession of qualifications relevant to the security industry
