Role

My Client is a a leading provider of financial products and services, running for over 100 years. They are currently seeking a Solvency II Actuary Specialist for a critical role within the business

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for allocated areas of basis and methodology
  • Assist in the development of methodologies where required
  • Ensure that all investigations, recommendations and associated documentation is produced in line with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and are to an audit standard.
  • Liaise with team members and different teams (where necessary) to produce required analysis to support proposed changes to models
  • Review output from model to ensure it is consistent with the specified methodology and basis
  • Produce technical reports that adequately describe the issues, proposals and financial impacts, always mindful of the audience and the purpose of the report. Ensure that such reports are subject to effective internal peer review, discussing complex technical issues with others as appropriate.

When required;

  • Attend internal model technical committee to present findings
  • Assist Finance in implementation of changes in methodology in modelling
  • Respond to queries from other areas on the basis and methodology
  • Liaise with auditors and PRA

Essential

  • Institute of Actuaries
  • 3-5 years post qualification life insurance experience with good technical background
  • Broad knowledge of ICA
  • Solvency 2 knowledge including technical knowledge of methodologies on aggregation and/or market and non-market risk
  • Management and completion of complex tasks to deadlines
  • Computer skills - good knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
