I am looking to hire a Financial Control Manager for our public sector client

Role & Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Control Manager is a critical role providing financial support services in the Commissioning Support Unit.

The role will be a key member of the finance leadership team.

The post holder will help ensure the CSU is a provider of market leading financial support services and supplier of choice for its customers.

The role will be responsible for helping to develop an effective delivery strategy for the financial support services provided by the CSU, ensuring effective use of financial resources and people, consistently delivering successful outcomes and helping to manage financial risk.

The role is a senior financial manager who will support the operational delivery of financial support services to customers.

The post will also be responsible for the supervision and coaching of a Financial Control Manager providing similar services at a neighbouring CCG, ensuring they are developed in line with personal development plans

High level summary of key deliverables

Delivery of the contracted financial services for Greater Preston CCG and Chorley South Ribble CCG covering all month end and year end responsibilities

Line management responsibility for Greater Preston CCG and Chorley South Ribble CCG Embedded finance team

Line management responsibility for West Lancashire CCG Embedded finance team

Responsibility for Ramsay YTD position, FOT reporting, contract meetings and other Ramsay related matters

Essential Experience:

5 skills - qualified accountant, strong management/team leadership, experience of leading NHS year end, monthly and annual financial reporting, good knowledge of contract management within NHS - at LEAST 5 years, experience of Service Auditor Reporting,

Desirable Experience:

Other skills - good understanding of CCG/CSU services, good knowledge of ISFE system, ideally blend of private and NHS experience, can operate as leader but prepared to roll the sleeves up and get into detail, Advanced theoretical and practical financial knowledge in financial accounting, financial/other legislation and NHS financial policies
