We are currently recruiting on behalf of an industry leading civil engineering company in the water industry for a Quantity surveyor in the Yorkshire area.

The role will be to support the QS team in order the accurately value the works undertaken by the operational teams and, where necessary, gather and provide records to substantiate cost.

Some key responsibilities will be as follows:

- The varied work load includes new-builds, extensions and refurbishments
- To assist in the daily commercial and contractual aspects of the contracts managed by the operational team
- Preparation of financial statements in respect to projects assigned
- Ensuring proper administration of contract requirements
- To assist in the business development process in producing information for PQQs and tenders in relation to the project deliverable to the client and the project deliverable requirement to the business
- Financial Monitoring and reporting of projects assigned
- Gather and collate records of all work done
- Assist with payment authorisation of subcontractors
- Develop the team through training and mentoring
- Assist with completion of account

We will be looking for candidates with the following skills/experience

- HNC or equivalent in Quantity surveying
- Experience of working in a Multi-disciplinary environment
- Experience in the preparation of the interim and final accounts
- Experience in target cost contract or similar
- Experience with construction contracts
- Commercially aware
- Forward thinking and interested in developing smart ways of working with teams to realise client and operational objectives
