Carbon60 are looking for an EMC Engineer for a business critical project in developing Power Generation/Distribution for battery Monitoring systems and Lighting/power for Commercial Rotor Wing Aircraft.

As EMC Engineer you will join a world leader in the design, manufacture and support within the civil and military aviation sector.

Contracts will be available up to 12 Months for the right candidate and offer an excellent opportunity to develop key skill areas within the aerospace industry.

Our clients site is located near Yeovil in the South West of England.

What we are looking for in the EMC Engineer:

Essential skills of the EMC Engineer:
Educated to HND or engineering degree standard. A good understanding of Physics is important
A thorough understanding of RF measurement principles
EMC/RF experience (in the context of hands on testing and approvals/standards)
Minimum 5 years practical test experience in a controlled test environment working to Automotive/Aerospace test standards
Familiarity with test, monitoring and control instruments
Knowledge and experience of working to a recognised quality system
Conscientious in attention to detail, accuracy and record keeping

Desirable skills of the EMC Engineer:
Computer literate - working knowledge of standard PC applications
Experience of EMC aerospace testing to DO-160 is highly desirable as is experience of setting up, conducting and analysing EMC aerospace lightning tests
Ability to communicate clearly and to deal confidently with customers
Willingness to work additional hours when required including a shift working pattern
Ability to learn quickly and adpat to varying work requirements

Key tasks of the EMC Engineer/example:
Setting up and conducting all types of EMC tests
Making sure that test specifications are followed correctly
Devising and carrying out non-standard tests to meet special requirements
Recording product condition or behaviour during and after test
Creating concise and clear test records
Monitoring test equipment and reporting anomalies or faults
Producing clear and professional reports as required
Working closely with clients to understand and resolve EMC test failures through investigative work
Checking and calibrating equipment and test chambers

You will be working with sensitive data and as such you should be willing to undergo BPSS (Baseline) & Disclosure Scotland Security Vetting before being able to commence the contract.

To be considered for the EMC Engineer contract you must be able to work on ITAR (International Traffic Arms Regulations) restricted products and all candidates will be working with sensitive data and as such you should be willing to undergo BPSS (Baseline) & Disclosure Scotland Security Vetting before being able to commence the contract.

Please note that all application for the EMC Engineer role will need to be eligible to gain for UK Security Clearance and be able to work on ITAR restricted projects for the American Military. Our client is very conveniently located in Yeovil Somerset which is in an easy commute of Bristol, Dorchester, Dorset and the surrounding boarders.
