A global asset management company is looking to appoint a Project Manager - OTC Clearing to join their Change team on an initial 6 month contract basis in Edinburgh.

Core responsibilities:

  • Structure and lead change projects.
  • Ensure that projects benefit from a formal approach to planning, execution, monitoring and closure.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships carefully, ensuing that the project communicates its purpose, progress, status and issues and risks regularly
  • Maintain the appropriate records
  • Ensure that good governance is applied to the project, enrolling others in the oversight processes required for significant projects
  • Prepare multiple formal documents, in line with the agreed project management standards/methodology.
  • Ensure that the inter-dependency between projects and other programmes is actively managed
  • Work with Programme Managers, and other project managers within the programme or wider change portfolios to ensure that connected projects deliver in harmony, rather than at the expense of each other.
  • Be the go to person, when any question about a specific project emerges
  • Be the champion for the project enrolling the commitment and support of others as necessary
  • Provide metrics and data on the costs, milestones, benefits plan for each project under their management
  • Ensure that the project leaves behind a detailed history of the decision making process, approvals, sign offs, change control that can be audited easily.
  • Appraising projects financially
  • The management of risk
  • Diagramming for the purpose of explaining complex projects.
  • Preparing test plans and managing the UAT process

Core requirements:

  • Investment management industry
  • Experience of business process improvement projects
  • Derivatives knowledge/experience
