My client has an urgent requirement for a Production Planning Supervisor to join their team on a 3-6 month contract based in Bristol.

Job details:

Production Planning - Responsible for the process of generating Engineering releases into Sanderson from Agile (Implementing BECN's, BER's, BSR's and BSCN's);
* Creating assemblies and parts within Sanderson
* Creating route plans and planned costs for manufactured parts and assemblies (Machine Shop, Heads and Change-parts)
* Generates required dates for assemblies, producing MRP requirements for bought-out parts
* Generates Job numbers and Route Cards for Engineering/Assembly/Machine Shop
* Prints Assembly drawings for each project for Assembly

Stores Function - Responsible for managing the correct and efficient operation of the Stores process:
* Receipting goods into stores from Suppliers and Machine Shop and booking to project or stock
* Picking and kitting of parts from stock onto projects ready for assembly
* Safe storage and handling of parts processed through the Stores
* Operation of the Quality Non-Conformance process
* Spares picking and packing process
* Returns to stock from Assembly
* Accurate stock control and cycle counting
* Management of Stores personnel

Machine Shop - Responsible for managing the correct and efficient operation of the Machine Shop
* Planning of Work and Utilization of assets (machines and personnel) to meet the demands of Spares, Assembly and Stock requirements as efficiently as possible
* Maintenance and servicing of equipment
* Health and Safety, ensuring safe working practices are used and maintained

Production Support
Competencies
* Knowledge and understanding of relevant markets, suppliers and categories.
* Excellent negotiation, influencing and persuading skills
* Good assertiveness and diplomacy skills
* Previous experience of Managing Procurement and Supply Chain function in an OEM (Other Engineering Manufacturing) environment.
* Ability to read, understand and interpret Engineering drawings and identify appropriate sourcing.
* Experience of procurement in a project based environment.
* Knowledge/experience of working with MRP, ERP systems (preferably Sanderson)
* Experience of costing parts for manufacture
* Experience of managing an Engineering Stores process
* Experience of managing a small workshop
