Oracle DBA

A worldwide leading Insurance company are now looking to add an Oracle DBA to their strong and growing IT team in Dublin.

With offices all around the globe, they are the HQ for development in Dublin with the main technology decisions made in this office.

The technical team is very strong with a very low turn over of employees which has allowed for consistent growth over the last 3 years, they have taken on 2 new IT employees in the last month.

This role will suit someone with a flair for Oracle DBA that is a keen problem solver.

One of the main advantages of working with my client is the variety and challenging projects they encounter. They also have an excellent and talented development team that is solving unique problems within the database area.

Your Role:

Develop an expert understanding of the product data model and engage with customers to document and develop an understanding of existing customer data systems.

You will be involved in defining and implementing migrating and updating data strategies. This gives you full ownership of databases and deliverables across all environments. This responsibility includes management of all deployments and releases across all environments, as well as consulting for data modeling and scheme design.

Your Skill-set:
  • 7+ years industry experience in Oracle systems
  • Experience with building highly-available and scalable systems.
  • Experience of deploying database upgrades to live systems.
  • Deep knowledge of Performance tuning using SQL and PL/SQL


Desirable
  • Oracle certification
  • Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience
  • Exposure to 12c


My client is a financially stable Company with a Roadmap of interesting and exciting projects in the coming 18 months. Recently there was a large article about the Company in the Irish Times.

Role: Database administrator
Duration: 6 months daily rate contract

Location: West of Ireland
Rate: €400

X-Factor: High probability of extension
