Financial Analyst
Description:
Design, conduct, and report interpretation of quantitative information, financial modelling, processes, procedures and creating presentations for upper management review and key decision support.
Responsibilities include:
Provides analytical decision support services or technical expertise for a broad array of financial and operational issues.
Conducts quantitative and qualitative financial analyses to address a broad array of issues across disciplines, projects and functional areas
Conducts or participates in complex projects where analysis requires an in-depth evaluation of factors.
Delivers interpretation of analysis, reports, methodologies, systems and source data.
Develops solutions to a diverse range of complex problems, which require creativity and innovation within broadly defined policies and practices.
Reviews and analyzes submitted budget/forecast data for completeness, changes in trend, and drivers of change.
Identifies key business issues and designs analytical approaches/solutions
Designs financial models, processes, procedures and methodologies
Assists in developing financial performance monitoring process and coordinating compilation, interpretation and presentation of monitoring information.
Lead the process to streamline, refine and improve the budget/forecast/reporting processes
Handle all phases of projects assigned including client meetings, analysis, presentations
Requirments:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related
A minimum of 5 to 8 years of financial analysis and reporting or related experience.
Strong analytical and proactive problem solving skills.
Expert proficiency in PC based word processing and spreadsheet applications, including advanced functions such as graphics, pivot tables, macros and database management.
General knowledge and understanding of accounting rules and principles.
General knowledge and understanding of project management principles
Proven initiative and self-directed style.
Strong oral and written communication, presentation and facilitation skills and consulting skills.
Delivers formal presentations to leadership/clients.
Ability to work under demanding and tight deadlines with a high level of accuracy as both originator and reviewer.

Develops and maintains positive working relationships with departments and individuals who act as resource to IT Finance
Working knowledge Cognos and/or Business Objects a plus
