Description
This University has embarked on a top down review of strategy, processes & structures, with six major work-streams underpinning this work, Stu Journey and Enabling Technology are two of these.The Stu Journey work-stream sits outside of the IT department and is largely about establishing a new digital landscape to support the stu experience (this includes a new CRM and CMS). Enabling Technology is an IT department work-stream which covers projects within five key areas: Desktop, Core Systems, Transformation, Stu Journey and Applications Architecture.
An IT Project Manager is therefore required to provide an interface between the IT department and the Stu Journey work-stream and to manage any Stu Journey projects within IT.
The Role
- To take full responsibility for the definition, planning, documentation, control and satisfactory completion of any IT projects.
- Ensure that realistic project, quality, change control and risk management processes are implemented.
- Manage procurement processes for the project as required, working in liaison with the Procurement team and other stakeholders.
- Undertake analysis of stakeholder objectives and business requirements, identifying options for consideration.
- Assist in identification of costs and potential business benefits.
- Identify and document the success criteria for the project ensuring successful project delivery to agreed time, cost and quality criteria.
- Ensure that multi-disciplinary project team members are managed effectively, with clear definition of work objectives and work packages, regular progress reporting and appropriate escalation processes.
- Work with key stakeholders to define acceptance tests.

- In depth knowledge of project management techniques and tools
- Proven experience in people management
- Proven experience in risk management
- Proven experience in change management
- CRM Projects track history in Higher Education would be highly desirable
- Experience of managing third-party application or service suppliers
- PRINCE2 qualified
