Our client in Amsterdam is looking for a Senior IT Ops Engineer.
General knowledge:
Real world experience being responsible for the operation of java-based mission critical systems where disruption leads to a multimillion financial losss.
Technical knowledge:
IT (Master/ Bachelor) technical degree
Proven track record in this role in an international environment
Excelent knowledge of enterprise level networking (TCP/IP, VPN's, SFTP, Proxy, Firewalls)
Excellent knowledge of at least one modern scripting language (Python, Ruby, Groovy).
Excellent knowledge of OS fundamentals with the ability to apply it in the context of modern operating systems, e.g. RHEL, CentOS, etc.
Good knowledge and real- world experience in provisioning environments with tools such as Puppet, Chef, Vagrant
You have sound knowledge of relational databases (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc).
Knowledge of NoSQL datastores such as Cassandra, while not mandatory, is a strong nice-to-have
Excellent knowledge of and experience in modern application servers such as Nginx, Tomcat, WebSphere
Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery using modern OSS tools, such as Jenkins, Maven/ Gradle, Ansible/Nolio
Hands of knowledge of computer security and of Web/ Mobile threats particular
Performance/ Capacity/ Availability Monitoring knowledge of well- known OSS tools in this area (such as Ganglia, Nagios, Graphite and JMeter) is a big nice-to-have
Able to work under pressure, no 9-5 mentality, willing to be on stand-by outside of office hours
Great English communication skills, verbal as well as written
Important competences:
Problem solving, creativity, cooperation, disciplined and result oriented.

Description:
The Global portal covers the whole range of client's products and will offer the whole spectrum of products.
The portal will be accessible via web as well as mobile and tablet devices (with native apps for iOS and Android).
Extra information:
We anticipate an increase in the amount of customers in 2015 and need to urgently fill the shortage of competent Ops people we have on the team.
