Procurement Specialist

My client a leading Insurance company require a Procurement specialist to join their team and take responsibility for allocated domains, vendors and contracts, whilst supporting the wider activities of the business as required.

The successful candidate will be part of a team tasked with delivering significant supplier spend savings and core duties will include:

  • Working within the end to end Regional and local purchasing processes
  • Assist with the regional procurement strategy aligned to the Global strategy
  • Support the implementation the Regional Sourcing Strategy
  • Work within the Regional procurement strategy and processes
  • Support and further the improvement of sourcing ratios in favour of globally negotiated contracts and price cards, associated you areas of assigned specialism.
  • Procurement Technical lead for projects for projects assigned.
  • Ensure that new supplier selection/existing supplier reviews are undertaken according to Procurement best practice and the suppliers meet the given requirements
  • Negotiate contracts to ensure best value
  • Strategic Vendor Management and development of Vendor relationships

Key Skills

  • Significant Procurement/Supplier Management experience
  • Experience of working in a complex global environment
  • High levels of integrity and procurement/business ethics
  • Excellent communication skills and able to work within political environments
