A Financial Accountant with Defence, Financial Processes, Finance Services is required to work on a three month contract (WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION) for our Defence client based in South Wales This is a three month contract working for a nationwide leading defence business.

Our client is looking for a Financial Accountant reporting to the Finance Transition Manager to assist in the delivery of a company-wide transition of Back Office financial processes to our centre of excellence, Finance Services, based in Glascoed (UK). You will be responsible for stabilising the service delivery, introducing robust controls and governance, and introducing standard processes.

As part of the R2R Transition team, you will be responsible for the transition, stabilisation and delivery of a number of processes, including:

Specific to transition:

Support the R2R due diligence process

Available for off-site Workshadow (~2-3 months)

Assist in the creation of post-transition process and control environment

Stabilised Service:

Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and tax packs (UK & ROI)

Preparation of Balance Sheet Reconciliations (multiple BUs)

Completion of monthly VAT computations in line with Group deadlines (UK & ROI)

Various compliance activities

Treasury accounting support

Continuous Improvement activities

Completion of Monthly Hyperion Reports

Support Audit activity

Execution of tasks on a number of ERP systems

As a Financial Accountant your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

ACCA, CIMA or ACA (Part or fully qualified)

Experience of working in a customer service excellence environment

Experience in SAP ERP system

Flexibility with an appetite for change

Strong IT skills, particularly in the use of Excel

An ability to work independently and as part of a team

Demonstrable Problem Solving skills

The role is based in South Wales - commutable from Abergavenny, Ebbw Vale, Merthyr Tydfil, Aberdare, Pontypridd, Newport, Caldicot, Usk, Chepstow, Monmouth, Cwmbran, Blackwood, Pontypool and Abertillery with excellent access from Hereford, Ross-on-Wye, Cheltenham, Gloucester,
