Finance Officer

Position Holder Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for entering invoices accurately onto the AP/AR ledgers in a timely manner to meet Government Prompt Payment targets and SLA's.
  • Query resolution through interaction with business areas, external suppliers or customers.
  • Reviewing information for quality; identifying and resolving data discrepancies.
  • Ensuring the correct accounting treatment of adjustments and transactions.
  • Using Oracle Financials for data entry and analysis.
  • Producing high-quality and accurate outputs to time and quality.
  • Working flexibly across the team and adapting direction quickly in order to meet changing priorities and demands.
  • Providing administrative support across Financial Accounts when required.

Desirable or Essential

  • Basic knowledge of excel (is able to set up basic spreadsheets)

Essential

  • Understands how to use the basic input and output features of the accounting software

  • Put forward their own views in a clear and constructive manner, choosing an appropriate communication method, eg email/telephone/face to face

Desirable

  • Proven technical accounting knowledge, evidenced either by a formal accounting qualification (eg AAT) or relevant experience gained through working in a Financial Environment.
