WhoIsHostingThis.com is one of the worlds most popular web hosting sites, helping millions of webmasters find the right web hosting for their site. We've been featured in the New York Times, Time.com, Mashable, Venturebeat and many more publications in 50+ countries.

We work with the world's biggest web hosting brands, like BlueHost, HostGator and GoDaddy, to deliver new customers. We're expanding fast & looking for new members to join our remote team.

We've found the best way to grow is to provide really useful tools and content.

  • We take complicated topics and try to make them accessible to the average online reader.
  • Tech news topics such as: internet law, privacy, security, copyright and hosting, and everything to do with websites and the internet.
You'll find our team knowledgeable, experienced, and determined to create quality work.

About the Position

We are seeking a tech-savvy editor to help with our fast-paced content publishing workload.

Please note this is not a writing position, nor for someone who simply corrects spelling/grammar.

We are looking for a skilled editor that can pick apart drafts to:
- Write killer headlines
- Check that drafts provide accurate and actionable advice
- Find technical errors
- Assure that content is accessible to the average reader
- Polish drafts


Main Duties:

- Reviewing content from research / writing teams
- Providing feedback to writers to help create polished drafts
- Editing for clarity, accuracy, grammar
- Coordinating with project managers to provide feedback during the editing process
- Working with in-house team as well as coordinating with freelancers and agencies
- Oversee production from draft to final published work
- Editing existing content for accuracy and freshness

Ideal Candidates:

- Skilled at crafting engaging headlines
- Have strong personal interest in technology and internet
- Experience with websites creation and web hosting concepts
- Experience with copywriting & editing for the web
- Self-motivated, can handle fast turnarounds.
- Prefers shorter words over fancy ones
- US English
- Comfortable with Gmail, Asana, Dropbox, Spreadsheets, Wordpress
- Detail orientated

You're interested in geek culture (take a look at our blog), rather than just clocking in the hours.

You likely run your own websites, but crave the chance to work on a bigger site with more traffic (like our top secret next project).

We're looking for people who get things done - not perfectionists - but insist we aim for the best we can achieve with the resources available.
