My Client, a world leader in the aerospace sector for design and manufacturing satellites both commercial and military are currently looking for an Equipping Engineer. Equipping drawings define the detailed installation of non-structural (mostly thermal) components on the spacecraft, including heatpipes, paint, thermostats, heaters, thermistors, second surface mirrors, multilayer insulation, tybases and connector brackets.

The Equipping Engineer is responsible for:

Organising regular interface meetings and negotiating with system teams to agree data deliverables and schedules.
Maintaining Key Interface Data lists to track changes in Equipping Team inputs.
Driving activities to ensure all the departments inputs from the Equipping Team are provided in accordance with the agreed project schedules and to the agreed cost base.
Managing and providing technical guidance to the Equipping Team Design Office.
Checking the Equipping Team Design Office output and releasing drawings to the department with sign-off as defined by the appropriate design delegation Matrix.
Producing the documentation necessary to justify and validate the hardware.
Supporting team meetings, qualification, non-conformance, design and other reviews as required by the Equipping Team Leader.

Skills Required:

Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, or demonstrated relevant experience.
Excellent communication skills
Exposure to mechanical design
Understanding of mechanical drawings
Computer literate
