Role - Operational Risk Analyst

Duration - 6 months

Location - Edinburgh or Manchester

Purpose of the Role/Accountabilities

  • Undertake process analysis of existing policy procedures in order to develop changes

  • Risk Assessments

  • Event and Loss Data Management

  • Scenario Analysis

  • Risk Appetite

  • Key Risk Indicators

  • Findings and Action Plans

  • Support the production of regular Operational Risk Reports.

Key Role Deliverables

  • You will own components of the risk change agenda, building and implementing the Operational Risk function and operating model

  • Ensure clear and effective transfer of responsibilities, you will ensure the provision of support, input and advice to development and finalisation of the regulatory business plan

  • Develop reporting for the board and leadership team to provide an aggregate view of the status, risks and escalation of divergence from the framework.

Experience

  • A proven track record delivering projects initiatives coupled with the ability to work to tight deadlines, you will be experienced in managing a number of conflicting and frequently changing priorities

  • Knowledge of the financial services landscape and banking regulatory environment: in particular detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements for Operational Risk management and measurement.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Experience of managing relationships and communicating at Executive/Senior Management level you will have demonstrated strong leadership capabilities, and experience of assessing, mitigating and managing operational risks across a wide, diverse business/set of functions

Other Significant Role Requirements

  • Ideally educated to a degree level and/or holding a relevant professional qualification.

  • Membership of appropriate professional bodies (eg Institute of Chartered Accountants, Institute of Operational Risk, Institute of Risk Management, Professional Risk Managers Association, Global Association of Risk Professionals) - ensures up to date knowledge of market best practices.

  • Knowledge of Operational Risk processes and their application within financial services.
