Service Management Engineer (IP, SDH, MSS, Firewall)

Our client, a global telecommunications company are looking for several Service Management Engineers to work in the TOC (Technology Operations Centre) working day shifts. The Engineers will be responsible for the surveillance and 1st line activities involved in investigation, resolution and management of service, network and IT faults.

Objective:

  • Monitor and react to faults affecting the performance and availability of services and networks.
  • Support the continuous improvement with the TOC system through optimisation of alarms derived from element and performance management systems.

Responsibilities;

  • Monitor and react to inbound triggers to the TOC relating to either; Customer, Service, Network or IT related faults taking full ownership of incident/ticket.
  • Managing incident at a technical level
  • Assess impact on service or network ensuring correct prioritization
  • Identify and provide first line investigation of incidents, liaise with 2nd line and 3rd party vendors to restore service quickly with minimal impact to the business
  • Raise trouble tickets and prioritise in line with defined SLA's
  • Complete a daily maintenance check on running processes and system health

Skills from Service Management Engineer;

  • Experience with relevant technical environment; Mobile, Broadband or IT
  • Specific technical experience within one or more of the following; IP, SDH, MSS, Firewalls
  • Understanding of the delivery of end to end mobile voice or data services
  • Understanding of ITIL - Service Management principles and service level metrics
  • Trouble ticketing systems (TTS)
