Description

Background - Brussels based international bank, has a Unix Engineering team responsible for the 2nd and 3rd level support of 600+ IBM AIX, Oracle Solaris and Red Hat Linux Servers running various applications. The team is also responsible for architectural designs for projects using Unix/Linux as well as accountable and responsible for the stability of Unix/Linux environments.

Essential Tasks:

Incident Management:
- Provide 2nd/3rd level support for IBM AIX operating systems and applications within the bank. Escalation to third party vendors as required.
- Ensure compliance with Key Performance Indicators.

Change Management:
- Technical validation/review of system changes within the company. Planning and administration of changes affecting the UNIX/AIX environment;
- Ensure Changes are reviewed and performed on time.

Project Based Activities:
- Be a technical lead, or backup for UNIX/AIX based projects within the bank. Liaise with other technical and business teams to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Liaise with Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered on time and budget

Documentation:
- The creation and administration of technical documentation for the Unix team as and when required. Present to and train colleagues to support our Linux environment.

Essential Skills:

IBM AIX 6.x/7.x;
IBM PowerHA 6.x/7.x;
IBM VIOS 2.x;
IBM NIM;
TCP/IP Networking;
Software and Hardware RAID Products;
EMC Networker;
Knowledge of current IBM AIX hardware families (P Series Architecture);
Language: English

Desirable Skills but not essential:
Financial services/controlled environment exposure;
BeyondTrust PowerBroker;
Quest Authentication Services (QAS);
IBM MQSeries
Sterling Commerce Connect:Direct for Unix/NT
Tivoli Monitoring Agent
Web/E-business technologies (LDAP, Apache, WebSphere, etc)

Normal working hours 09:00 - 17:00 but please note there is some out of hours watch duty support.
