I am Currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor for a contract role with an industry leading civil engineering company in the south eastThis is a really pivotal role in a company that are looking to adapt their business methods and have a strong pipeline and excellent growth plans.
What is my role?
To achieve target margins, manage risk and act as the commercial counterpart across some of the business units within Infrastructure Solutions.
* Preparation of operational statements including CVR, cash and profit
* Preparation of time and costs claims
* Preparation of budgets and cost plans
* Liaise with the client, client representatives and other 3rd parties on commercial issues, including agreement of additional monies
* Cost management for project/section of works
* Prepare forecast cost to completion
* Prepare interim and final accounts
* Change management for project/section of works
* Recording of change and allocation of responsibility
* Evaluation and recovery of any change that is not our companies risk/liability including recovery from 3rd parties
* Risk and opportunity management for project/section of works
* Management (with operations team) of known risks mitigation measures
* Procurement for project/section of works
* Ensure all involved in procurement for project understand allowances for items they are responsible for and the procedures to be followed
* Maintain procurement schedules
* Prepare subcontract documentation, issue enquiries, and negotiate agreements including interim and final accounts
* Support Managing Quantity Surveyor on ad hoc basis as and when required
* Provide training and support for junior commercial staff and operational staff who you are supporting
What knowledge, skills and qualifications do I need?
* Minimum seven years' experience of site based surveying with a main contractor
* Ideally chartered status but as a minimum a degree/HND in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
* Experience in agreeing value of work with client/subcontractors
* Experience of delivering contracts administering and using the NEC suite of contracts
* Demonstrable knowledge of construction technology involved in civil engineering (should be able to take measurement off drawings)
* Ability to provide Site Quantity Surveying services associated with the delivery of a complex civils project
