Role: Operational Risk Manager
Location: North West England
Rate: Up to £650/day
Duration: 6 month initial contract

Overall responsibility for the provision of guidance and support to the business transformation programme on the identification, design, implementation and embedding of risk controls within the key deliverables from the transformation programme The role will operate in a dynamic environment, and will be responsible for ensuring all workstreams within the programme follow a consistent risk framework for embedding robust risk and control frameworks, across all categories of risk, into the design and build of the re-engineered business. The role will also be responsible for interacting with the entire second line risk function to ensure relevant subject matter expertise is engaged with the programme as required.

I am looking for candidates with the following experience:

- Substantial experience in designing and implementing control frameworks in regulated general insurance businesses particularly in relation to Operational and Conduct Risk
- Substantial experience in working at pace in large and complex transformation environments covering end to end business change, at least in relation to IT platforms, business processes, organisational changes, product and distribution strategy changes
- In depth technical knowledge of and understanding of the regulatory framework and requirements in relation to operational risk including FCA/PRA Handbooks
- Advanced knowledge and practical experience of risk methodologies, frameworks, policies and standards
- Experience of leading initiatives which have delivered optimal operational risk outcomes
- Strong experience in operational risk within a financial services environment
- Experience of leading initiatives which have delivered improvements in operational risk management and oversight
- Strong influencing skills up to senior management level
- Strong networking skills across an organisation and externally
- Highly developed communication skills (verbal, written, presentational) including developing and implementing pan-organisation training interventions
- Proven track record in managing risk and control identification workshops, and challenging the effectiveness, quality and completeness of risk control environments
