From their Bristol base my client work Internationally across over 10 countries, including the UK, China, South Africa and the USA. We work with several global clients on opportunities around the world taking advantage of 30 countries in which WSP operates. The service provision covers a wide range of consultancy and project delivery services provided as separate elements or through integrated teams including Consultancy, Project realisation and Term Services.Responsibilities

To promote technical excellence of the electrical aspects of projects undertaken
  • To comply with office, project & QA procedures/programmes/regulations
  • To operate as a lead electrical engineer on assigned projects
  • To maintain and develop up-to-date knowledge
  • To provide site and sales support, including the development of proposals


Specification of equipment and installations relating to, performance of calculations for inspection, testing and commissioning of:
  • HV & LV distribution networks and their protection scheme.
  • The electrical aspects of private power generation for CHP and EFW systems.
  • Control and utilisation of energy in industrial environments, particularly hazardous areas.
  • Motor control, including a.c. variable frequency drive systems.
  • To operate as Authorised Person for the WSP CEL Coventry site (where required).
    Assist with various other tasks and duties which may be allocated from time to time by the E & I Manager.
  • To carry out design studies and safety reviews
  • Generate proposals, estimates & specifications
  • Perform calculations (including load level, fault levels and their considerations, protection, grading and discrimination)
  • To be responsible for cost-effective design, testing, commissioning activities Produce the necessary reports accordingly
  • Applicants must be Chartered Electrical Engineers with post chartership experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of HV fault level calculations and protection and discrimination.
  • Knowledge of requirements for hazardous area installations.
  • Knowledge of PED.
  • Knowledge of Safety Systems/SIL.
