We are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor (depending on the candidate background and current level) to work with one of our industry leading clients. We will need the person on this project for the next 6 months minimum.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The candidate will be responsible for providing commercial, contractual, procurement and financial support to the site team. The candidate will have to understands the respective obligations, responsibilities and liabilities of the parties to the contract and provision of advice/guidance on them to the site team as appropriate. The candidate will also have to be aware of and understand what documents comprise the contract, and be fully briefed on the contract estimates including settlement adjustments.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Preparation of quantity "take offs" / assessments and production of Bills of Quantities.
* Production of subcontract enquiry packages.
* Collation of documentation for subcontract orders.
* Maintain procurement schedule for key suppliers and subcontractors.
* Preparation of subcontract payments and notices.
* Preparation of key performance charts.
* Assist with monthly EVA reporting requirements.
* Assist with preparation of information for monthly client reports.
* Production of interim payment applications.
* Maintain subcontract performance / liability schedules.
* Collation and indexing of commercial registers of contractual notices, early warnings etc
* Assist with the establishment of the "Site-Cost" system.
* Cost coding and allocation.
* Material reconciliations.
* Assistance in the preparation of budget / forecasts.
* Support site staff in adhering to process and procedures
* Attend Site Meetings
* Delegation/allocation of Quantity Surveying tasks to Assistants (if available) including setting objectives and monitoring their progress.
* Responsible for identifying training and development areas and informing the Project Surveyor.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS (ESSENTIAL):

* Essential
* Higher Education in related subject and/or equivalent experience
* Sound knowledge of standard forms of contract.
* Experience in management of: subcontract accounts, applications for payment, final accounts, cost/value reporting, variations

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS (DESIRABLE):

* HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent.
* RICS, ICES or CIOB.
* Experience of Procuring major subcontractors.
* Experience of target cost
Specific Burgundy and Yellow book experience
* Knowledge of Thames Water
* Monthly reporting procedures
* Experience of contractual claims
* Experience of insurance claims
* Experience of working on projects valued over £50m.
