On behalf of our client, an international IT service provider, we are looking for candidates for the following freelance position in Luxembourg: Unix Administrator (m/f)We are looking for candidates with 4-6 years of relevant experience.
YOUR TASKS
Administration of Unix based systems and related systems tools
Maintain and design new schema in SQL database
Maintain and develop scripts collecting all system data
Knowledge of Oracle DBMS and SQL (maintain/design DB schema)
Full Life-cycle Management of a Solaris or Linux based system
Identify and take ownership of initiatives to improve the unix infrastructure
Ensure the effective resolution of unix related incidents and service requests respecting the defined SLAs
Analyze problems, provide workarounds and/or find solutions
Identify opportunities within the unix infrastructure for improvement
YOUR SKILLS
Essential:
Unix operating systems as system administrator – Red Hat Linux / Solaris
Good scripting skills (Shell / Perl)
Good written and verbal communication skills
Good planning and report writing skills
Service oriented, ability to work as a team in a multi-cultural environment
Experience in design architecture and documentation
Understanding of basic project management methodology
Desirable:
Oracle DBMS/SQL knowledge
Experience of working within an ITIL aligned environment
Experience in administrating Unix server in a big environment
Knowledge of C programming
