Compliance Analyst

Bank of America Merrill lynch is currently looking for an experienced Compliance Analyst to join their team who will also be responsible for supervising other team members

Previous experience of large shareholder reporting/Takeover Panel reporting or significant exposure to equities products within a similar environment

Responsible for monitoring the Bank's positions for the purpose of Shareholder Reporting in all EMEA jurisdictions, including but not limited to Large Shareholder Reporting, Takeover Panel reporting, short sell reporting where applicable. Failure to properly report can lead to regulatory fines and loss of business opportunity.
The successful candidate will have a keen interest in focusing on using their Excel knowledge to strengthen and build upon the processes and procedures in place, along with a keen eye and high level of comfort around reviewing and analysing raw data. The candidate will interact regularly with individuals in all relevant lines of business, as well as work with counsel and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
* Perform daily monitoring and disclosure of positions held by the bank, and daily trade reporting to European Takeover Panels as appropriate
* Take responsibility for the creation and maintenance of macros and other methods of automation outside of the firm systems to enhance daily monitoring.
* Take an active part in the sourcing and validation of data and functionality for the firm's new large shareholder and short selling databases.
* Close liaison with the Line of Business and Compliance officers to confirm positions and any other issues arising from the holding of stock in a timely manner.
* Liaise with compliance technology group on all matters of system enhancements.
* Engage in the analysis of new rules and regulations pertaining to the monitoring and reporting of long and short holdings in equity and debt as needed.
* Continued maintenance of the team's desk procedures and regular production of management statistics.

Skills
* Previous experience of large shareholder reporting/Takeover Panel reporting or significant exposure to equities products within a similar environment
* Competency in creating and maintaining macros as a means of improving methods of analysing data more efficiently
* The ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines with no loss of accuracy
* Show initiative and react quickly to changes in priorities with the ability to quickly learn new procedures.
* Experience in analysing, manipulating and reporting from large sets of structured data (eg trading records) using MS Excel, MS Access and other similar applications.
* Professional approach with a clear and logical thought process.
* Demonstrate strong communication skills.
* Motivated and reliable.
* Previous experience supervising team members
