Here at Thames Water we are looking for a Contract Analyst to come in and assist us with out Cost Effiency Programme.

You will be required to work as an integral member of the IS Cost Efficiency Programme Team throughout the analysis phase of the Programme and potentially, continue through to implementation. You will carry out an analysis of the existing IS contracts landscape in order to define the gap between the existing and target landscapes; in terms of suppliers/contracts aligned to applications and infrastructure. From this, you will then use this information to support the definition of a programme of projects (and/or contract amendments) to close this gap in a cost-effective way, in order to deliver a range of target cost efficiency benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and own the medium-term CE Programme contracts strategy (& tactics); ensuring consistency with the developing Sourcing Strategy
  • Map IS suppliers/contracts to the existing IS application and infrastructure landscapes; identifying dependencies and relationships between them
  • Clearly describe the target IS contracts landscape in a way that will allow a clear definition of the gap between the existing contracts and the target landscape
  • Carry out a gap analysis between existing and target contracts landscape (contracts gap)
  • Review the existing portfolio of projects in order to assess their impact upon the contracts landscape and alignment to target landscape
  • Support the definition of a programme of new projects (or stand-alone contract amendments) to close the contracts gap
  • Support the definition of quick win' projects for early delivery of supplier/contract benefits
  • [Ideally, dependent upon skills and experience] Lead the creation of a total cost of ownership' (TCO) model for IS infrastructure, applications and contracts

We are looking for soemone that has:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of IT procurement and contract analysis
  • Preferable experience Water, utility or sectors with similar technology solutions and landscapes; including issues associated with procurement through either operating or capital expenditure budgets.
  • Preferable experience of working in organisations recently involved in the transformation towards virtualisation, cloud-based technologies and/or IT as a service.
  • Analysis of IT technology contracts, including: Infrastructure provision, management and supportApplication provision, development, management and support.
  • Procurement of technology infrastructure, applications and resources
