Quality Engineer

Role: Quality Engineer Supply Chain
Contract: 12months+
Location: Atherstone, Warwickshire
The Company: World leader in innovative products

A quality engineer is required to join the supply chain team located in Atherstone. The role will be dealing with complex 8D issues so experience in an automotive environment would be advantageous. the role is required as a focus on issues and resolution so queries and complaints can be resolved faster.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Identify quality improvement opportunities.
Prioritise and lead activities that improve customer satisfaction and reduces product variability
Answer customer complaints when required including 8D documented follow-up
Raise and validate Corrective Action Requests
Develop and coordinate produce release sample inspection
Optimise finished goods release testing through statistical studies.
Creates an awareness of quality improvement and product opportunities and is productive in suggesting and testing ideas.
Conducts and leads test method studies. Plans and leads quality system and process audits.
Document results, observations and conclusions in technical notebooks (or approved electronic files) and prepares reports to communicate results to appropriate personnel

Provide QA support for the sites SAP system implementation

Qualification, Skills and Expertise

Ideally a graduate with a Science or Engineering based degree or relevant industrial experience and training

Professional quality certifications, such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
We also require a knowledge of basic quality systems such as, Quality Manuals, ISO-9000, MBNQ, metrology, calibration, audits; demonstrated proficiency in the use of statistical tools such as exploratory data analysis, statistics, Gage R&R, Analysis of Variance, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Statistical Process Control and Capability; a good working knowledge of intermediate-level statistical and quality engineering tools such as acceptance sampling, correlation and regression, and experimental design; and an awareness of more advanced statistical tools such as response surface designs, modelling, and optimisation.
