Mechanical Design Authority - 6 month contract - £300 - £400 - Chelmsford, Essex
Mechanical Design Authority required this genuinely innovative British engineering firm. You will be the focal point for the coordination of mechanical engineering activities on sub-system programmes, acting as lead Mechanical Engineer and design authority for all mechanical elements.
You will own the mechanical design and be responsible for ensuring the mechanical design meets all requirements as well as overseeing the relevant verification and validation activities. You will also be responsible for the technical review of mechanical design elements and own the relevant technical documentation and drawings.
You will require relevant experience of: mechanical engineering, the entire design life cycle, owning complex mechanical design projects, working on high integrity/high reliability projects, leading design reviews, authoring technical documentation (design reports, test plans, etc.), producing test and verification plans, working in inter-disciplinary teams (primarily system and electronics engineers) and experience of working on space projects would be a distinct advantage, but is not strictly essential.
