Web Application Developer
Full Stack is looking for an experienced, passionate, and talented web application developer who can jump in take on some of our web application development projects on a contract basis.
We’re looking for someone who has experience with the following technologies: PHP, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, Javascript Frameworks (Angular, Ember or Backbone), CSS, HTML, SQL databases, KV stores, background job processing, etc.
We are a distributed team with folks all across the United States, so this is a remote position and we’re looking for a contract developer who can contribute to our team and projects.
Primary Responsibilities
- Development of PHP, Ruby on Rails and Javascript applications
- Involvement in developing and improving all aspects of our applications (development, testing, deployment, architecture)
- Providing technical support of new and existing applications (fixing bugs)
- Working with designers to implement user interfaces

We’re looking for you if you…
- Have 2 or more years of experience working with PHP, Ruby on Rails, and Javascript
- Have a successful track record of developing web applications
- Are comfortable with MySQL and have exposure to a variety of other database technologies (PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB)
- Have an appreciation for the peace of mind that comes with well-tested, documented code
- Are knowledgeable in front-end web technologies (CSS, HTML, etc.)
- Have experience making decisions regarding application architecture
- Are comfortable working with 3rd party APIs
- Are excited by the web and keep up with new technologies
- Communicate well with others in both written and verbal forms
- Are self-directed and able to manage your time effectively
- Experience working with an agile / scrum-based development model
- Having developed on iOS, especially if you have contributed to an app in the App Store
- Experiencing working with Javascript MVC frameworks, such as Backbone.js or AngularJS
- DevOps or system administration experience, particularly using Chef
- A BS or MS in Computer Science, Math or other interesting analytic discipline
- Development skills with other languages, like Scala or Python
- Previous history of working with a remote, distributed team
- Significant contributions to or ownership of open source projects (please do tell!)
- Working remotely is how we operate
- This position is for a contract developer
