Job Title: Release Manager

A global organisation seeks an experienced Release Manager to play a key role in leading and managing their existing team of experienced Build Engineers along with managing and planning all software releases within a high availability, SAAS environment. This role will be responsible for coordinating with all stakeholders (20 people in immediate team) including Development Managers, Operations Managers, Project Managers, Business Analysis and Test and will have two direct reports (build engineers) in the project planning of each software release or patch and the communication to all relevant parties.
The ideal candidate will have come from a software development background (understand C#, .Net) gone into either Release Management or Project Management and will understand the complexity of release management in an internet operational environment, including multiple datacentres and hundreds of servers. Please note that this role does not require you to code but the ideal candidate will have began his/her career in a technical role.

Must have experience/qualifications include:

5+ years of professional experience as a people manager.
Minimum of 5+ years' experience in release management of a technology platform.
Strong Project management experience.
Proficiency in application development release processes and tools.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated technical leadership.
Proficiency in creating detailed production implementation plans and performing mock dress rehearsals in a production release environment is desired.
Have release experience in an internet operational environment, including multiple datacentres and hundreds of servers.
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to use sound judgment.
Ideally has an understanding of and can apply statistical analysis.
Excellent communications skills to clearly articulate complex technical issues to all levels of the organization (both technical and non-technical).
Ability to approach problems with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm, and innovation.
