IT Engineer - 6 months+ (Dublin City Centre)
My client is looking for an IT Engineer who will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/
configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure in a mixed environment.
The IT Engineer must work closely with the Senior IT Engineer and the IT Development Manager.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include installing new applications, distributing software upgrades, monitoring daily activity, maintaining a storage management program and performing routine backups. Troubleshooting system problems and providing technical support as required.
Requirements
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information sciences, or related field and/or 4 years equivalent work experience.
- Experience in the deployment and maintenance of Linux and Windows application Servers using scripts, as well as some working knowledge of MS SQL, Oracle relational database(s), and virtualization systems.
- Working knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a driven cross functional Systems, Operations and IT team as well as the ability to work independently
- Must be solutions oriented
Experience in upgrading Windows O/S's from NT through the latest releases is essential.
