Directs the evolution of the enterprise architecture function/program, including coordination of an appropriately balanced pursuit of enterprise business, information, technical, and solution architectures. Leads an Enterprise Architecture team comprised of members from Architecture and/or virtual members from various business units and Information Services in the identification and analysis of enterprise business drivers. Participates in the technical aspects of strategic decisions regarding IT for the enterprise. Develops enterprise architecture requirements that are scalable, adaptable, flexible and capable of providing our workforce, customers, and partners with secure, anytime, anywhere access to its systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage key principles and models that describe the enterprise's future state and enable its evolution. This includes: Providing thought leadership in developing and sustaining an Enterprise Architecture, comprised of business, information, technical, and solution architectural layers, that is aligned with the business vision and strategy.
  • Acting as a sounding board or consultant to IT and business leaders in the development of a business architecture vision and related IT solutions.
  • Ensuring the Enterprise Architecture is aligned with the business strategy and vision by working with the PMO and business units both operational and client services to identify challenges and opportunities, and their architectural requirements.
  • Developing and communicating guiding principles, governance structures, and strategies that lead to technology investments consistent with strategic objectives.
  • Working with Application Services and Infrastructure Design and Security to assess the current state of the information technology applications and infrastructure, identify improvements necessary to enable the business vision and strategy, and establishing standards to guide their appropriate use.
  • Driving the selection of architectural components.
  • Keeping apprised of technology and industry trends/advancements to determine the potential impact on the vision and timing of initiatives.
  • Support leadership with the identification of strategic projects that enable the business strategy, while considering technology dependencies and far-reaching implications.
  • Conceive initiatives, build consensus and participate in the execution of such solutions.
  • Seek ways to apply new technology, and reuse existing technology components, to improve business processes.
  • Develop alternative technical solutions. Advise on options, risks, costs vs. benefits, and impact on other business processes and/or priorities.
  • Work with others to: Translate the business vision and strategy into actionable initiatives that evolve the information technology portfolio to the desired future vision. Identify the appropriate scope for an initiative that balances the business drivers and risks against the costs. Establish the investment strategy for an existing application or technology. Fit projects to enterprise architecture, as well as recommend when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate needs.
  • Lead the development of an implementation plan for the enterprise architecture based on business requirements and IT strategies.
  • Manage and develop resources to ensure that the virtual Architecture team maintains the appropriate skill sets and resource levels required for sustaining the Enterprise Architecture vision, supporting the IS and Data Governance processes, and supporting the software development life cycle for operation and client delivery. This may include resource scheduling, oversight coordination, coaching, supervision, and development.
  • Identifies and applies external and internal business and technology trends that influence the future vision and investment direction for an architectural domain
  • Provides guidance on incrementally achieving vision while sustaining day-to-day operations
  • Assesses, understands and influences stakeholders to achieve future visions and establish appropriate governance
  • Identifies methodologies and governance appropriate to the enterprise needs
SKILLS:

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.
  • 10 years business/industry and overall technology experience including architecture design and deployment, systems life cycle management and infrastructure planning and operations.
  • 10 years familiarity with basic information management practices
  • 7 years of business analysis and/or business strategic planning. Able to extract business requirements and articulate technical concepts in lay language, and develop and deliver clear and compelling presentations.
  • 5 years ERP package implementation and custom development experience.
  • 3 years of leadership experience in managing multiple, large, cross-functional team or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.
  • 3 years of knowledge of business process improvement principles and methods
  • 2 years of IT strategic investment and portfolio planning experience.
  • 2 years of experience supporting highly mobile, geographically dispersed workforce that rely on technology and collaboration.
  • 2 years of experience building a componentized architecture.
  • At least one year of experience in extending processes and supporting technologies to external parties.
