The Role
My client specialises in the design, development and installation of in-wheel motor drives for the automotive industry and is currently seeking a controls specialist to join their team.
The role will involve using Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow and DSpace for the purpose of integrating and amending control systems for various platforms. My client is not seeking a developer but is interested in someone who can use auto-coding to alter the existing product to be compatible with each platform/vehicle. This is a hands on role that will allow the successful candidate to make alterations to the control system as well as being able to test their system on the platform and dyno first hand! Therefore, this is a rare opportunity for someone to be an integral part of a project rather than a "small cog in a big wheel".
Experience required
Working knowledge of Matlab, Simulink, DSpace and Stateflow
Excellent communication skills as this will require customer liaison
Strong technical understand of Electric Vehicle and/or hybrid technology systems.
Appreciation of system safety implications and how to achieve safe design.
