Embedded Systems Developer (C, C++, Linux, STB)
Based in Nice, France
6/12 month initial contract
Daily Rate: €325 - €350 per day
Opportunity Summary:
A medium sized consultancy are looking for a Embedded Systems Developer to contribute to the port of a Middleware Framework on a Legacy Embedded Set Top Box working alongside TV applications developers. It is for an initial 6/12 month contract based in Nice, France. You will be working onsite at a large international Cable Operator who provide triple-play, over-the-top video and mobile telephony services to its customers.
Responsibilities:
- Port of a small footprint Middleware onto a Linux BSP.
- Support the integration, debugging and tuning of TV applications.
- Contribute to and create detailed technical designs.
- Participate in pilot deployment.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 5+ years related experience in an expert delivery environment within STB/DVB/DTV arena
- Solid understanding of C, C++
- Knowledge of ARM, x86, MIPS64, Microchip 8 & 16 bit architectures
- Expert knowledge of Operating Systems such as VxWorks or Linux/RTLinux/ucLinux (including ability to develop Linux Kernel patches)
- Good knowledge of Device Drivers and device driver development and tuning
- Graphics chip set programming skills
- Graphics application development skills on Embedded systems
Additional Bonus Experience:
- Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle.
- Other languages such as Assembler.
- Experience with DVB and MPEG digital TV standards.
- Experience with Conditional Access/Digital Rights Management systems.
- Experience with cloud-based client implementations.
