Equality and Diversity Specialist required for a contract position in London.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Equality and Diversity specialist will work across all aspects of the programme to ensure that we are designing and implementing changes in line with best practice, and that all opportunities to meet Equality and Diversity goals are exploited.

Activities will include:

Supporting work to establish national diversity targets and implementation plans to achieve these.

Reviewing recruitment practices and work place characteristics; recommending how we can optimise our recruitment and retention of high calibre staff from a diverse range of communities

Involvement in the development of a blueprint for the new IPCC', ensuring that this reflects best practice in terms of meeting the needs of a diverse workforce

Conducting Equality Impact Assessments on any proposed changes, to ensure they are aligned with a commitment to diversity

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Solid understanding of legal framework and best practice in relation to equality and diversity issues in the workplace

Extensive experience advising on diversity issues across a range of areas including recruitment, retention and organisational design
