As a key member of the Global Software Engineering team (GSE) you will be involved in the application support life cycle with a focus on delivering quick solutions against business goals, technical requirements and platform engineering standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the essential foundations of the web platform to enable a globally distributed deployment of Equinix portal ecosystem for delivering on demand business information to our customers.
  • Provide Incident management support for various applications with a goal of meeting support SLAs and KPIs as a team.
  • Analyze/diagnose system problems and define temporary workarounds and give suggestions/improvements to mitigate future problems
  • Distinguish between defects, data issues, and enhancements/changes. .
  • 24x7 rotations of 8 effective work hours per shift and 5 shifts per week are required.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of software experience as a developer and/or system support.
  • Experience in developing web application in J2EE/Java EE environment essential.
  • Familiar working with environment having Unix/Linux Systems, Web platform and Tomcat/Weblogic Server.
  • Able to handle routine system administration tasks like cycling Servers, obtaining and analysing logs, monitoring system and applications health, taking backup and DB dump given appropriate scripts.
  • Possess excellent Verbal and Written communication skills and understands how to handle customer feedback and rejection.
  • Ability to manage the support of multiple applications and systems at once.
