An Embedded Software Engineer is required by a global leading high precision machine manufacturing organisation, on a long term contract basis in the Netherlands. Their systems are used by the major semiconductor manufacturers to create integrated circuits that power an array of electronic, communications and IT products. The successful candidate will have a chance to work with state of the art technology and work alongside world-class engineers.

Job Responsibilities
The Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for working on system integration activities of facilities for embedded systems and related tooling for high tech machines.
• Create/Tune/Support embedded systems for machine sub-systems.
• Participate in development of facilities/utilities for the sub-systems and in integration activities.
• Help with application behaviour analyses on multi-threading, multicore systems to help find and solve performance bottlenecks.
• Create abstraction layers for (new) facilities/utilities for accessibility, security, infrastructure and diagnostics.
• Develop system resource diagnostic tooling.

Job Requirements
• A Bachelors or Masters degree in technical software development or similar.
• For this position we require minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
• Must have experience:
Embedded Linux, C language, Python and shell scripting;
SCM tooling: Clearcase or GIT;
Analysis of software issues and design of solutions;
An Agile way of working (scrum).
• Nice to have experience:
Solaris, C++, Perl, WindRiver Linux, VxWorks;
Network knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, WireShark, BOOTP;
ATCA, IPMI, PowerPC, Sun/Oracle workstations, x86, Digiport, thin-client,VME;
Real-time embedded development.
