Senior Advisor
10 Month Contract
Up to £300 per day

My client, a leading public sector organisation, is seeking to recruit a Senior Advisor to join their team in Leeds. As a Senior Advisor, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining senior level relationships with national and key regional stakeholders including local enterprise partnerships, significant developers and local authorities. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience in economic development and a sound knowledge of the wider levers which support effective investment delivery.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
*Assist in developing and maintaining senior level relationships with national and key regional stakeholders including local enterprise partnerships (LEPs), major business and its representative bodies, significant developers and local authorities (LAs).
*Support colleagues in translating how these stakeholders' priorities inform the Agency's policy development, investment planning and decision making through the use of data handling, GIS and investment appraisal techniques.
*Assist the development of the Agency's strategic approach to development management focused on supporting the growth agenda and monitoring the delivery of the agreed planning improvement plan.
*Develop best practice and processes and encourage their consistent application.
*Support the delivery of appropriate internal training and advice.
*Monitor and review the Agency's response to planning applications as part of the process to encourage best practice and drive consistency.
*Assist in the development and maintenance of appropriate economic development and development management performance metrics and data sources in order to meet external and internal reporting requirements and inform future business strategy and planning.
*Production of contextual intelligence to supplement existing and future analysis pertaining to the work of the Growth and Economic Development Group.
*Work closely with National and RIUs to facilitate best practice sharing and ensure consistency across the Intelligence Community.

Key Knowledge and Skills
*Experience in the economic development and/or development management sector.
*Knowledge and appreciation of the wider levers that support effective investment delivery eg planning, public/private funding, other Government support mechanisms and interventions.
*Good IT skills, particularly in the use of Excel and GIS.
*Capability to work in a customer facing environment to deliver successful outcomes.
*Evidence of successful working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at a senior level to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes.
