Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) is seeking a talented Web Designer/Front-end Developer to join our friendly, expert in-house Web team. Your responsibilities will include front-end development, UI design, UX design, liaising with internal clients and advising on industry best practice for a variety of student recruitment and research projects. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a major project currently being undertaken by the QMUL web team.

Skills and experience:

- Significant experience designing for the web
- Experience of developing responsive websites
- Excellent HTML, CSS and Javascript skills
- Experience in UX design
- Experience in UI design
- Excellent analytic skills
- Excellent attention to detail (perfectionists welcome!)
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a web-related field
- Excellent communications skills
- SASS experience (desirable)
- PHP/MySQL (desirable)
- Experience of working in higher education (desirable)

The post is full time for a period of up to 12 months, starting as soon as possible. Starting salary will be £31,735 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave and a defined benefit pension scheme.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.

The directorate is responsible for marketing and student recruitment, brand and identity, website, digital and social media, stakeholder relations, media relations, widening participation, and internal engagement with staff and students.
