Middle Office Analyst - Investment Banking - Rates
My client, a Tier 1 Investment Bank, is looking for a Middle Office Analyst with Rates experience to join on a contract basis. The Rates Investment Bank Middle Office Team supports the Rates Trading Businesses in London, which are consistently voted by clients as the number one rates business worldwide. The team is primarily responsible for key regulatory control initiatives to comply to Basel 3, EMIR and Dodd-Frank requirements.
Main duties and responsibilities
This role is to join a team specialising in the monitoring of the banks regulatory obligations, such as:
- EMIR reporting - monitoring trade volumes through our Strategic Reporting Framework system, dealing with exceptions and tracking IT development work
- CFTC Reporting - monitoring SEF rejections, MAT breaches and Mandatory Clearing checks
- SEF processing - own the SEF pending queue, making sure all SEF trades are accepted promptly into risk and by clients
- Mandatory Clearing - monitoring exceptions from the Dodd-Frank mandatory clearing reports, querying exceptions with Middle Office and Sales, ensuring timely submission of trades for clearing.
Key requirements:
- Relevant banking experience in a Middle Office
- Interest Rate Swaps experience preferred
- Regulatory exposure preferred
- Experience of working against tight short-term deadlines in a dynamic, pressurised environment
- Experience of implementing process improvements with tangible business benefits
- Preferred degree or equivalent
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent focus on risk and control
- Proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement
- Proficient Microsoft Office Suite skills
