One of our client is looking for a distributed capacity and performance analyst who has a specific background with Unix and Windows platforms (Linux and Solaris platforms is a plus).
Required Expertise:
Windows and Unix systems (hardware, operating system, Middleware and frameworks) OR have extended experience in Application development with a good knowledge of Windows and Unix platforms. Performance analysis on Windows, AIX, Linux or Solaris. Familiar with SQL and Oracle performance aspects. Team oriented and willing to share knowledge with colleagues. Good communication and presentation skills (both verbal and in writing). Analytical mind-set with a basic understanding of statistics. Advanced knowledge of Excel is a plus. Basic expertise in SAN and NAS solutions. Basic expertise of Networking. Familiar with the capacity management process. ITIL certified is a plus. Experience in SAS programming or similar Scripting/querying/reporting development language.
Main Responsibilities:
CAPACITY OPERATIONS:
Daily monitoring of the performance and capacity of the Windows and Unix systems and services. Identification and Investigation of capacity and performance issues. Report in a comprehensive manner and propose mitigating actions to the teams in charge of the Windows and Unix systems or services.
PERFORMANCE ENGINEERING:
Participate to Project Business Cases and Maintenances analysis and review, assess the feasibility of the proposed solutions and make recommendations on the Design of Windows and Unix applications and services. Participate in performance testing, performance data analysis and propose changes to optimise resources usage and performance. Validate business requirements and make recommendations on the sizing of the infrastructure. Build capacity models to correlate business volumes with resources utilisation and service levels. Participate in the writing of the performance and capacity test reports. Contribute to the delivery of the yearly capacity plan and monthly capacity reports.
